Founded in 2008 and based on a love of fresh local food and sustainable food systems, our award-winning Root Cellar is rooted in a passion for community connection.
Our two markets offer Vancouver Island's largest selection of locally grown, organic and conventional produce, full-service butchers and deli, artisanal grocery, dairy, breads, and bulk foods departments. We are proud to work with over 250 local and BC farmers and makers to help bring fresh, local, and delicious food to our community.

Our second location, which opened in the fall of 2021, is nestled in the heart of Cook Street Village. We are proud to be part of this buzzing neighbourhood, which is home to many local events, community organizations, and small businesses.
